This stunning picture is of the largest viruses known as "bacteriophages", that is the viruses that infects bacteria. They are about 200 nm long and 80-100 nm wide. It is having this dynamic complex structure, the head has icosahedron aka polyhedron capsid and the tail is helical. These big monsters of viral world having a big head on top consists of viral genome, followed by the collar and then sheath is present. The function of collar is the attach head with sheath. Further then it has most complex baseplate or basplate may be absent in some followed by large tail fibers and small tail spikes.
